Ayurveda

Ayurveda is an ancient medicine system of the Indian subcontinent. It is said to have originated in India about 5000 years back. The word Ayurveda is a conjugation of two Sanskrit words 'ayus', meaning 'life' and 'veda', meaning 'science', thus ayurveda literally means the 'science of life'. Ayurvedic medicine is one of the world's oldest medical systems and remains one of India's traditional health care systems. Ayurvedic treatment combines products (mainly derived from plants, but may also include animal, metal, and mineral), diet, exercise, and lifestyle. Each dhatu except Shukra Dhatu produces its mala which should be excreted from body. According to Ayurveda, everything in universe including human beings is composed of the Pancamahabhutasor five basic elements viz. Akasa (Space), Vayu (Air), Tejaor Agni (Fire), Jala (Water) and Prithvi (Earth)
